Things to know about Sunday mornings.

We are so glad that you are thinking about joining us or you already have and want to know more. We understand that getting in the groove of a new place can be daunting, so here are a few things that will make your time with us flow smoothly. But first a word about pre, and hopefully soon post, Covid.

OP Church loves kids and families! We have a long history of heavily investing in our children's programs. We have a wonderful Kids' Wing in which to hold staffed classes, nursery and Kids' Church for children ages birth-5th grade. However, during this time of social distancing we don't believe using the Kids' Wing and a large number of volunteers is currently the wisest path. As the pandemic becomes less of an issue, we will begin providing more options for children and move back into our wonderful Kids' Wing.

  • Where do I Take my Kids?

Below is effective 10/25/20. October 18 will be our last combined a cappella/instrumental church on the lawn at 10:00. If you come this weekend, look for the Kids' Check-in near the playground for our outdoor Kids' Church serving 3year olds through 5th grade.

8:15 A cappella Service  All children attend worship service with parents.

10:45 Instrumental Service While all children are welcome to attend worship service with parents, we'd love to see your children ages 3 years old through 5th grade at Kids' Church! Children younger than 3 should remain with parents.

    Nursing Mother/Infant Room
The Nursing Mother/Infant Room is located in the back of the auditorium on the left side when you face the stage. Here you will find comfy rockers, a changing table and a dial on the wall that you can use to listen in on the worship service.

    Wiggle Room
The Wiggle Room is located in Room 104 which is just to the left of the main doors as you enter the building. Here you will find a changing table and a TV that is streaming the worship service. Due to Covid we are not supplying books or toys so you may want to bring your own. This room is reserved for children ages birth through Pre-Kindergarten. This is not an attended room. Parents must remain in the room to supervise their own children.

    Kids' Church

Kids' Church will be held on the ground level in the Fellowship Hall. If you are dropping children off at Kids Church, please park in back of the building in the lower parking lot and enter through the back doors. If you do happen to enter the building through the main doors in the front, just follow the dots on the floor down the hall on your right to Kids' Church. Here you will go through a quick check in process. Your child will receive a name tag and you will receive a corresponding tag to use for pick up.

What do we do in Kids' Church? Glad you asked! We learn about Jesus and have fun! We sing worship songs kids' style, hear wonderful Bible stories in fun and engaging ways, learn how to apply the Bible stories to our everyday life, play games and/or do crafts and hopefully make some good friends!

Kids' Church Safety Measures- All adults working with children must pass a background check. Clean towels will be placed on the floor 6 feet apart. The towels help kids understand and stay in their own space. Weather permitting, a door will be propped open to provide a flow of fresh air. All children and adults will wear a face covering. If the weather is nice, we may go outside for some or all of Kids Church. If we are outside we will allow children to remove masks when they are seated and remaining socially distanced.
